Property Description
Great location! An amazing house with stunning views! Located in the heart of Captiva Island, only a short stroll from restaurants and shopping, this five-bedroom, four-bathroom pool home is the perfect spot for an amazing vacation.
Walk into the living area furnished with a large sectional couch with a table, comfortable chairs, and a flat-screen TV. The second living space has a couch, two comfortable chairs, and a large wall-mounted flat-screen TV. The open kitchen features granite countertops, updated appliances, and plenty of storage, utensils, plates, cookware, and glassware. The dining room has a large table with seating for 8. Sliding glass doors open out to a large enclosed lanai that is air-conditioned. The lanai contains a couch two comfortable chairs and a dining table for six. There are beautiful views of the large heated saltwater pool and Bay from the lanai. There is one bedroom on the living area level with a king-size bed and its own porch and bathroom. The upstairs third floor features two bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bedroom has a king-size bed, a private bathroom, and a sweeping porch with views of the Bay. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, bunk beds, and a private bathroom with a separate shower and bathtub. The lower level has two bedrooms, a living room with a sleeper sofa, and a kitchenette. The first bedroom has a king bed and access to the new large bathroom with a custom tiled shower and vanity with dual sinks. The second bedroom has two twin beds and shares the large lower-level bathroom. Doors from the first level living room lead to the patio and caged saltwater pool. Attached to the pool is a large tiled hot tub that will comfortably hold 8 people. The top level of the home has an amazing rooftop deck, plenty of seating, and stunning views. Swim in the heated saltwater pool, watch the stars from the rooftop deck, shop in the village, stroll to the nearby restaurants, or use the wagon loaded with beach chairs and umbrellas to enjoy the beautiful beach at the end of the street. A perfect location and the perfect home for an amazing Captiva vacation!

This home is amazing !! It is the perfect place to call home while visiting beautiful Captiva island . It is so comfortable and relaxing with plenty of space to spread out yet great spaces to gather as a family. The kitchen is warm and inviting . The upper decks are lovely quiet places to relax and watch the sunrise or sunsets with gulf or bay views . The pool was so refreshing after a day at the beach . And an amazing added plus is that this home is in such a great location- so walkable !! It was a quick walk to the beach (beach chairs , rafts , etc provided) , easy walks to dining , shops , coffee , live music , watching the manatees , and more . I would highly recommend this home. It was hard to leave and would love to come back again!!

We stayed for a long weekend with 2 other couples. Great layout for hanging out together or needing to slip off for alone time. The rooftop deck is awesome for looking at the stars. The pool and hot tub were in great order with comfortable chairs and clean water. the kitchen and dining area were perfect for meals and the grill outside was in great shape for grilling. We were a quick 5 min walk to the beach and a 5-15 minute walk to restaurants. Great property and excellent location. The house and grounds were in good repair with plenty of beach chairs and towels which was and extra bonus. Would definitely rent this great property again.

Great stay in early September. Murmond House is designed for large gatherings with opportunities, but also room for everyone to have privacy . View from the roof is great, and the partially shaded pool with its attached hot tub is was wonderful after spending time on the beach - loved the outdoor shower to rinse off after the beach. Love that the kitchen has lots of expected gadgets and plastic for the pool. Short walk to the beach and restaurants are also within walking distance. We didn't need to use the car at all during our visit.

My family vacationed here for a week in July. We have all ages from 10 months old to 72 years old. The house is exactly as described with plenty of room. The downstairs worked perfect for us as we had teens/young adults with us who had an area of their own. The main floor worked well as there were two separate living areas so adults could spread out. There was plenty of seating at meals between the table in the kitchen and the table on the screened in porch. The porch was awesome as it gave the young adults another place to hang out. We did not use the hot tub on the top of the house, way to hot up there, so I can not speak for it but the hot tub attached to the pool was wonderful as was the pool. There is a grill which was very nice to be able to grill out for dinner. They have beach towels there along with beach toys, chairs and umbrellas to take to the beach and there are two wagons to push to the beach which made it so nice. The walk was not a long walk, maybe 5-7 minutes, nor was it a hard walk we took the 10 month old and a 2 year old each day with no problem. Check in was super easy as was check out. Communication was great and they were really quick to respond! I had read reviews with some people saying it could use a few updates. The home was VERY clean when we arrived, not even any dust in the vents! The size, location, and cleanliness along with the price make this a wonderful vacation home in my opinion.

We just got home from a great extended family get together. Due to privacy and Covid, my niece and family had the top floor with 2B/2B, my brother and sister-in-law had the bedroom/bath on the main floor and my husband and I had the lower level to ourselves. It was wonderful. I’ve never slept so great. It was quiet and private with our own family room, kitchen and bath.
I’d love for my own kids and families to be able to come and have a family reunion. They’re all from different parts of the country. The house gives everyone room to have privacy and enough space for socializing together.
The house has a great location. It’s just a short walk to the beach and to restaurants. We enjoyed eating out and listening to live entertainment. We grilled out and enjoyed the beautiful pool. There’s lush vegetation and upper level water views.
We were so happy with how well everything worked out!
I hope we can go back soon with our own grown family or with some other couples.

Welcoming home, great location,, great experience. We visited the Murmond house in early May of 2018 for a girls trip. There was plenty of room, and room for many more to come. What a wonderful experience! The house is welcoming, spacious, and had all of the amenities that we needed and more. What a great location on Captiva Island, just a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and the market, there was no need to get in a car and go. We enjoyed seeing at least 6 manatees when we walked to town around the boat docks. Provided beach umbrella, chairs, and towels easily fit into a wagon was convenient for the short walk to enjoy sunny days at the beach. The ocean was a beautiful aqua blue. A lovely lanai, partially shaded pool and hot tub welcomed us home after we enjoyed the beach. We will definitely visit the Murmond House on Captiva Island again.
